I follow him, wondering if throwing a dwarf would be considered a decent ranged weapon.

(What? it's a legitimate concern as to weather or not you can throw a dwarf and it being effective.)

I will be located in a mountain cabin for the next few days, so this extended post-drought shall persist until after the weekend.

Re: Milor's Labyrinth
--Exiting Stage Zero Foyer--
Entering Stage Zero Pillarie
The party continues forward to the left of the massive steel doors. The tunnel here bows upwards and downwards, side to side, snaking ever onwards. The haphazard walls smooth over in sleek pearly curves and swells. After nearly a hour of travel, the tunnel finally breaks into a stone balcony overlooking a deep and dark abyss. Bright white illumination emanates from above, the source being four discs of pure light well over two humans in diameter. Across this enormous chamber lies another balcony, a giant steel key just visible its raised ledge. Stone pillars, fluid in shape, thrust from the abyss to a level height beneath the group's balcony. The top of these pillars is each an imperfect bowl, featureless save a singular mechanical lever at the center. Numerous tunnels can be spotted throughout the area. A third balcony, at a height equal with the pillars, sits adjacent and below to the party's balcony, connected by a steep slope of smooth stone. A flat bridge of white light extends from the balcony to the nearest pillar. Similar bridges link every pillar to its neighbors, and a final bridge joins a tunnel to the pillars.
Since there's a lot of stuff and that can be confusing, here's a helpful little graphic, complete with tunnels in sight! Numbers represent elevation, letters provide pillars with an ID. Party is at the rectangle with elevation 5.

Re: Milor's Labyrinth
(Oh, that explains why this RP was stalled for so long XD)
Alexandra stared across the chamber, arms crossed. "Even if we could cross these pillars I see now way up to that opposite balcony, nor any way up here if we go down..."
She looked toward the others, "Do any of you happen to have any rope? We could tie it to this balcony and at least have a way back up here from the one just below."

Re: Milor's Labyrinth
Sarnor accepts the objects and watches her jump.
"What a strange woman."
"Anyway."
"I have some climbing gear we can use to to get that key." Sarnor says. "As for a way back up here we can just grapple form the balcony below us." Sarnor then walks to the edge of the slope and slides down to next balcony to check out the light bridge, tapping at it a few times to see if it's solid before smacking pretty hard to test its strength (if it is solid).

Sarnor successfully controls his slide (athletics roll: 13), avoiding a violent decent. The bridge is solid to the touch and once struck it reflects Sarnor's staff as would a wall.
Sarnor is split from the party!
Sarnor joins party B!
Party A: Balcony 5
Party B: Balcony 4
New Regional Rule: Party Splitting
While in the Stage Zero Pillarie, the party may split into smaller groups, designated by letter. In order to leave the The Stage Zero Pillarie, the entire group must come back together in a single party. The party inventory remains shared between all split groups. Members in different subparties are not aware of another member's health/status/inventory/etc if said member is in a different subparty, as they no longer share the wonderful menu system.

Re: Milor's Labyrinth
Lol, Loki may or may not have left himself logged in on my computer .
"You guys coming?"
Sarnor takes a careful step onto the bridge and moves to I.
Also how big are the bowls and balconies?
And wouldn't it be finess to safely slide down the slope?

Re: Milor's Labyrinth
So it wasn't Loki who just committed suicide? :p And how'd we get Lylana's body if she fell into the abyss? XD
Alexandra then carefully slid down the ramp (Athletics role 14) down to the floor below.

The bowls are roughly 8 bodies long down the middle, with a radius of curvature slight enough to walk upon carefully. The balconies in the image are to scale in relation to the pillars.Elite wrote:Also how big are the bowls and balconies?
Yes. I temporarily neglected that job's existence. Future slides shall be finesse.Elite wrote:And wouldn't it be finess to safely slide down the slope?
Alex slides down to balcony 4.
Alex is split from Party A! Alex joins party C.
Sarnor is entitled to a perception check.
Party A: Balcony 5
Party B: Pillar I
Party C: Balcony 4

Re: Milor's Labyrinth
Malica makes a magic check on the light source and the light bridges between the pillars: 8 + 3 = 11.
Malica also makes a perception check to examine the light sources and surrounding walls for any markings, etc.: 17 + 3 = 20. (Hurray for getting to use jobs with points in them.)

Re: Milor's Labyrinth
The lever offers a small amount of resistance to Sarnor before abruptly giving way, locking in place with a click. A monumental rumble echoes throughout the chamber as pillars F and H twist and recede lower into the abyss. Light bridges vanish, reappearing as the pillars complete their movement. Pillar G rises, meeting the level of balcony 5. As pillar F lowers, a new tunnel can be spotted off to its side.
Finely slides down to balcony 4 safely.
Finley is split from Party A! Finley joins party C.
Malica learns that the bridges are solid force, and quite possibly could support an infinite weight. They are set to dissipate if there are no ledges to connect, and will reform should said ledges return to a level height.
Malica somehow spots thin, translucent films giving the sharper curves of the pillars a distinct sheen, and here she was trying to find markings on the walls or lights.

Re: Milor's Labyrinth
Party B crosses the light bridge and ventures into the tunnel. It's a small ways in before it turns, right into a dead end. In said dead end are four yellow buttons protruding from metal slates engraved in the cave wall. The top two buttons are big and stick outward, with the word RESET clearly printed in the middle. One of the bottom buttons does not stick outward, instead it is retracted back into the metal plate slight partially hidden behind two steel shutters. The letters 'ESE' are visible on this third button between the shutters. The shutters themselves are in constant motion, threatening to reveal entirely or close off the retracted button at any moment.
The fourth and final button, in a very fine font, reads KNOW ONE NOES WHAT THIS BUTTON DOES. Alex is compelled to agree, and since even the designer of this button surely has no recollection of its purpose, it must be an extraneous button not worth the pushing thereof, nor is likely to even produce any tangible, visible, and/or entertaining effects. Sarnor is of the understanding that such musings are complete hogwash, and that the button most certainly is simply another reset button. After all, its right next to three other buttons that are each definitively reset buttons, and none of them traps.

Re: Milor's Labyrinth
Alex eyes the button warily, and then scowls at her companions, already certain of what suicidal thoughts must be forming in their minds. "I suggest we wait for the others before pushing buttons," she said.
