I narrow my eyes at Malica. "That's ridiculous, you have to learn magic from somewhere if you know it - and I'm not a nerd!" I add hotly.

Alright this obviously isn't working, I can't just ignore this chick. Maybe if I act insane enough, she'll be the one that starts avoiding me. "Fine, if you really MUST know. But I warn you, it probably isn't something a bookwork like you would be used to."  "Sorry Ly'Lana, we'll have to catch up another time."

I step between the two mages. With my notepad out, with which I scribbled down my name for Malica to read, I scribble down some more, asking a simple question. *Thank you for the compliment. Is something the matter with you and Renate, the other mage girl?*

Eyes brightening, I immediately fish out a pen and paper from my pack. "Ah, thank you, I knew being persistent would pay off!"

Looking up, I urge her to begin.

Malica mockingly fumbles around her bag. "Oh shit, it seems I left my pencil and paper back home. Anyway! Okay, Okay, Okay Here it goes." [Assume that if the party makes any decisions of moving at this time, I'd be telling the story as we go]

"So a really long time ago, when I was real little, my village was overran with monsters. It was very terrifying, very scary, you get the picture. But like, it's not like the people in my village were a bunch of pussies. They fought back, people with swords and arrows, it was awesome, really cool, you get the picture. But it wasn't enough to hold them off. Then suddenly a horn blew, and these dark riders came storming through the streets launching fireballs and shit, was crazy, really insane. And umm.. Well, I thought to myself, how bad ass would it be do be like that? Watching the monsters, once rampaging our village, burn to a crisp and get hacked a part. So I asked my parents once every thing was all said and done, 'How do I learn things like that?' And my parents became terrified. They told me not to think about things like that, and that I should forget that night as it would be good for me, or some bullshit like that. Anyway, the black riders stuck around the village for awhile; no one approached them. Everyone seemed to avoid them, even though it was clearly them that saved the city. And I thought to myself, man these guys are the true badasses that saved the town, why isn't anyone thanking them. One of those days, out shopping with my mom, I broke away from mother and went to thank one of the strangely garbed men. 'Thank you, sir, for saving the city! It was really awesome!' Then the last I remember of that memory was my mother screaming and the man looking down at me with a menacing grin (it was super hot.) After that, all I remember is having the powers to burn and melt anything that irritates me! HAHAHA"

Malica then gives her a wide-eyed, menacing stare. "Will that story satisfy your curiosity?"

I nod eagerly to Ly'lana, saying, "Yes, I studied magic at an all-girls academy in the capital city ever since I was young."

As Malica began talking, I turned my attention on her. As she spoke, my stomach churned and my face fell.

"Oh, wow, I'm so sorry, Malica!" I cry the moment she falls silent. She stares wide-eyed at me - no wonder, her story must have brought up some bad memories. "I had no idea something so horrible happened, of course you wouldn't want to talk about it! I swear I'll make it up to you for bugging you so much!"

As those two banter on with eachother i jog ahead to be next to Strax and tie a rope around his waist. I scribble down on my notepad and show it to him. *I'm going to try and tie the crazy, doped up elf to you so he doesn't go wandering off and die.*

Wait, what? Seriously? She bought that? LOL Well, I mean, I guess it wasn't all a lie... Looks like I won't have to tell her the initiation story after all.

"Nah.. it's no biggy. It'd just be nice if ya stopped staring at me all the time... hehehe-- Seriously, it's creepy." Malica laughs and skips off.

Eww, I sounded so girly. What kind of weird aura does that nerd give off, anyway? OH! BONDAGE! This looks like fun! What a kinky little elf girl, Ly'Lana is! *Joins Ly'Lana and Strax*

"Right you say?!" Sarnor exclaims, spinning from staring at the left passage way to the right one and charging down the path. As he walks he pays attention to Malicas sad tale though somwhere in his mind he thinks it is a lie. All Sarnor really cares about right now is the next battle.

I  sit down and listen wholeheartedly to Malica's story. The troop protecting her village greatly reminding me of my own friends and the heroic deeds we use to do. As she finishes her story I stand up and embrace her in my arms. I immediately release her completely red in the face, a trail of tears down my cheeks.
"I'm so sorry, so terribly sorry for my actions. I just got so captivated in your story and it reminded me of such good times I used to have I just couldn't help myself. As an apology please accept this strange looking object i found after disemboweling the little mouse." I hand Malica 1 mana seed.
"O, here Re-Re, you have one too. From what little knowledge I have about such things these would be much better in your beautiful ladies hands then mine." I hand Re-Re 1 mana seed.
I stare at the rope Ly'lana is holding and give her a big smile. "Sure I'll keep Cookie Man with me, but it seems like he's running down that hallway over there. I believe we should follow"

Umm.. well then. Was not expecting this... "Well, I suppose I'm glad that my sorrowful tale of how I was kidnapped and lost my parents brought you back nostalgic memories? Now seriously, leggo, you're gonna crush me.."  Strax releases his embrace, apologizes, and hands Malica another seed.

So many happy, feely, chatty people in this group. This is going to be one long quest...

"Thanks," I say, flashing a smile to Strax as I pocket the Mana Seed.

Snapping to attention, I turn one last time to Malica. "Sooo... Why do you dress like that, then? Don't you get cold at night?" I ask slowly.

As the group moves along, the walls of the hallway begin to lose their smooth sheen. Before long the area once again looks to be a natural cave. The tunnel bends left and right rather than plunging straight ahead as it had before. Even after a fair amount of walking, forward and backward remain the only options. Some breed of plant erupts from the side of the tunnel here, the otherwise inviolet stone being interrupted by a sprawl of dirt and flower.

@Raxis:: While thresh nor threath do not reset after combat, threat and stamina do. If the group is attacked shortly after a combat, I may ask everyone to revert to their previous threat/stamina levels.

You identify the plants as Moon Drop, a type of poisonous lotus. Your studies were not specific on the poisonous properties, although a medicine check might reveal the application method and effect.

"Be careful of these plants, everyone, they're poisonous," I say to the others, recognizing the plants. "I'm just not sure how poisonous, let me think on it."

Damn, general studies at the academy only went so far. They mentioned Moon Drops at least once, but... (Medicine roll to discover nature of poison. Roll 17 + 0 = 17)

Moon drop is a particularly pervasive poison that has harmful effects even on skin contact. Thankfully it does not harm ones health, but rather drains them of mana reserves. It has never claimed the life the curious passerby.

"Aha!" I cry, having a eureka moment, "these plants are poisonous toward mages, they drain your mana reserves!"

I turn toward Borgrun, beaming, "Could you please collect some of these? I'd do it myself but they poison through skin contact, and," I hesitate, blushing slightly, "well, they wouldn't bother you, and there's no telling when they might come in handy someday."

After hearing the explanation of a few of these plants I begin to collect some. Seeing as I have no natural affinity to magic and am not capable of even using mana I figure I am safe to collect the flowers.

Moon Drop Lotus (lv5) added to Borgrun's Inventory.
Moon Drop Lotus (lv6) added to Ly'lana's Inventory.
    Patch expired.
The plants likely will not live too long in inventory.  With proper tools, the poison could be extracted in a more safe, usable form.

    New Item: Moon Drop Lotus
A poison delivered simply through contact.  Can be thrown (65 hit/80 proc) to confer 'Moon Drop' physical curse for 2 rounds.  Causes (item level) loss of mana.

EDIT:: Didn't see your mana there Rock. Borgrun's mana has been depleted.
