I've added another section to the rules, called the player-post. I refuse to continue until it is adhered to (edit your last post). If this kills the game, I would sorta be happy. Also, I will add a mechanics section to help with understanding. Consider this to be more of a console game.
As for your question Graydon, you have no ability which interrupts an attack. You could prevent one by grappling Ian to the ground, but that would require you move to him, and that you went first in combat (initiative roll).
Because I feel it necessary, I will say where I plan this game to go. At the end of this area, some of the dreamworld will be explained. After that, we will encounter (and have to save) various NPC's to sort of 'build the fort.' Then, from the fort, we shall launch on various quests. I will not be the one designing every quest, I will put it on you guys. After the first two areas (intro and NPC fort) I wanted a different player to be in charge of different quests. Over these quests, I would impose a sort of super-narrative (supposedly).
