Vishkanya, Merfolk, Drow, Svirfneblin, Duergar, Strix, and Fetchling are all core, so I don't think third party or not is really relevant. I felt obitu was tame enough, but I'll play something other than a gaunt-looking lass with a strength score of 18 if the race is too gross.
