    GAME START -begin posting!
Feel free to give details on your ventures in the fairgrounds (I will interject or answer questions as needed).  You could even back-and-forth roleplay with other characters, so long as you continue to also post in the present time frame and keep with the pace of the game.  Once in the labyrinth, retroactive posts can even affect the modern state of the game due to strange and powerful cosmic time magics.

    ---------

With your purchases in the fairgrounds complete, the time to enter the labyrinth has finally come.  As the anticipation swells, its easy to understand why no amounts of painted tents or parlor tricks could make the fairgrounds seem a true festival.  It was a muster grounds for those with no promise of return.  It's no oddity that so few enter the labyrinth alone, parties banding together under the smallest of pretenses.

You find yourself in a party collected together mostly by a retired military sergeant.  Although he will not be entering the labyrinth, he had expressed his concerns about solos, duos, and trios, inspiring him to bring people together, especially those that appeared antisocial.  And this is how you came to be walking towards the Labyrinth with five individuals whose names you barely just learned {backstories not withstanding}.  As the group approaches the pearly white archway of the entrance, supported by two pillars of Roman archaic design, you and company are stopped by a human girl.

The child has in her hand a platter of cookies.  Thirteen cookies, each dotted with nuts and blanketed in spices.  Each save one cookie, this cookie being embedded with crystal candies and powdered with sugar.  The girl says that these cookies, which cured her dying grandmother, can be yours for just 3 atars.  BUT WAIT.  Your entering the labyrinth?  One cookie, two atars.  Take it or leave it.

I would like to make a sense check for whether this child has evil intentions.

And then I would like to make another to detect the spell Malica used to enhance her breasts.

I grab the fancy cookie and pay her the two atars with a smile as I pocket it.

(Are we suppose to post char stats every time or just during battle?)

Sorry little girl, but I have little use for sweets where i'm going.
    *Pats her head*
That, and I spent my last coin on this here shovel...

When you desire to do something which might require a roll, whether or not you know if I'm going to permit it, go ahead and make the roll so that I can resolve as much as possible as quickly as possible.  In the case of job checks like sense or magic, its 1d20+relevant job capacity.

Elite loses 2 Atars and gains "Sugar Crystal Cookie."

EDIT:: Girl mentions cookies so good are useful anywhere, anytime. She also mentions people with no money are useful not much of the time, in not many places.

Malica immediately reaches for her coin pouch as her eyes widen at the sight of the cookies. (Before this, she seemed very distant and kinda grim; just her normal self.) She remembers she spent all of her atars at the fairgrounds...

Those motherf***ers, they knew I'd want these cookies, but they tricked me into buying that extra mana potion...

As the other party members (if any) start to make their purchases, she glares intently at each person who buys them. Motherf***er... A**hole... I WILL DESTROY YOU, LITTLE GIRL.

I sigh and buy another cookie, tossing it without a word to the glaring human woman and smirk.

What is this? KINDNESS? I DON'T EVEN KNOW YOU.

"Thank you..." She quickly puts the cookie away. Do I stop glaring now? I think I continue glaring. Maybe I'll get another cookie.

    (Sorry)

This is only my first time away from the capital city, and I admit I'm feeling slightly concerned way out here in the wilderness. We are, after all, right on the doorway of the labyrinth. This girl... I must be careful.

Being careful not to appear conspicuous, I try to gauge her intent.

(Sense Roll. 1d20 roll of 16 + 2 sense = 18 sense for evil intentions)

I eye my companions warily. I had already encountered Malica in the fair earlier than day. The slattern, wandering around in such skimpy clothing, but I confessed myself curious when I sensed the currents of magic about her. Wanting to learn more of foreign magic, I approached her and said, "Hello. You're a magic user, aren't you? Where did you study?"

Is this person also hitting on me? Do I really draw this much attention to myself?

Malica stares forward. Maybe she'll go away if I ignore her.

@Raxis:: Alas, you sense this girl is out for your money!  Is one cookie worth the price of succulent meat?

@Rock'em:: "But the cookies cured my dying grandma!  Maybe if you had a cookie, you wouldn't have to bury any bodies... wait a second mister.  You don't have any secret cash you're holding out on me do you?  I'm giving you a whopping 45% discount you know!"

@French: Malica almost determinedly ignored me. Did I offend her somehow? Disappointed, I simply walked away.

Current time: I watched the girl for a while. She didn't strike me as evil but... Well, there was a certain lack of sincerity in her tone and in her smile. Most likely she was just trying to scam us out of what money we had.

I step forward. "Little girl," I begin as sweetly as I can manage, "you said that these cookies cured your grandmother? Might I ask what magic herbs you happened to find that gave your cookies these properties? Most of the ones I learned about at the Central Magic Academy for Girls were rumored to taste awful."

    Oh good, it worked.

As she glanced back towards the little girl, Malica couldn't help but notice the Orc, who apparently has a shovel, staring at the cookies. Hmm.. We might be able to get these cookies after all. Malica approaches the Orc, "Those cookies look so good, too bad I don't have any money..."

Sarnor rests his staff on his shoulders and hangs his arms on it looking back at (...what was her name again? Renate!) interrogating the poor girl. "Oh come now, leave the poor girl be." He says in a cheerful voice before taking the cookie out of his pocket and taking a bite.
